video baby monitor from levana
Does what it says it will... The Levana Clear-Vu digital baby monitor does exactly what it says it does, and it does it well. It sets up easily and transmits a clear picture in both light and dark. It's a cute little unit that is attractive and easy to use. The nightlight feature is pretty and soothing. However... i feel it is lacking in a few features, and could use a few basic design adjustments.
First, the quietest sound level that it will adjust to is still VERY loud. I don't need to hear EVERY SINGLE breath that my baby takes, i just want to know when she's crying.
Second, the switch for turning the video on and off is very tricky to do at 2am in the dark. It would be far easier if it had a push button on the front of the unit than the slide click on the side. It's such a pain that i've taken to just sleeping with the unit tucked into my hand so that i don't have to fumble around in the dark to turn on the video.
Third, the switches on the camera are all on the bottom of the unit so that once you have it mounted in it's holder on the wall it's extreme;y difficult to change the settings.
Fourth, and probably THE most annoying is that the monitor unit has no stand other than the charging unit. It needs a belt clip and/or pop-out stand like the other Levana models have.
Additionally, I would like to purchase another charging base, but cannot find one anywhere, not on Amazon and not on the Levana website. You'd think they'd be more than willing to give you more things to spend your money on. But maybe I'm nit-picking, because honestly, it's a very nice product that i will keep and continue to use. But if I had to pick a "perfect" monitor, this would not be it. review By K.

baby video monitor with temperature sensor
Awesome First Monitor, A+!! I researched baby monitors for the longest time... I actually bought two other monitors before this and returned them based on other reviews. I should state that baby monitor reviews make me bitter. Don't give a product a 1 out of 5 stars because it doesn't meet your highest expectation. Electronics shouldn't replace parents physically monitoring their baby. Most people give bad reviews saying they can't hear their baby "breathe". This is ridiculous since it is a monitor not a life support system. If you want to hear your baby breathe please sit in the room or carry your baby with you. On that note, if it is very quite this unit has actually picked up on our son breathing. I finally went with this unit, because of the features and the Philips Avent name. My wife and I love the unit. It is very clear, has a temperature monitor on it (we needed this since our baby room is on the side of the town-home that receives a lot of sunlight, so it warms the room more than other parts of the house), and has lights that light up on a scale based on the intensity of the noise. These lights are very bright and actually alert us faster then our baby crying at night... I highly recommend this unit and haven't had any issues yet! Will buy a Philip Avent monitor again if I ever needed one. review By Chris
When I got this baby monitor I was impressed with its quality! I have three, going on four, kids and we've used a variety of monitors from various manufacturers and this one impressed me the most. The audio quality is great, DECT makes things interference and feedback free, there's a handy "page" feature for if you misplaced the receiver, and there's no hassle getting the anything paired or on the right channel like cheaper monitors.
I also liked the ability for two-way communication, which the manufacturer claims is good to "sooth your baby". I personally don't trust that claim (cranky babies liked to be held, not talked to), but it is EXCELLENT if you want to keep an ear out for troublesome toddlers who are supposed to be going to bed! You might be surprised to discover how quickly they dart under the covers once a booming voice lets them know they've been discovered playing around!
As far as the quality goes, everything about this monitor seems well thought out from the ergonomics of the charging dock to the ease of instrumentation, impressive range and intelligent power throttling features (better battery life). You get your hands on this monitor and it just feels slick and careful in design. It's smaller than it looks in the picture (considerably smaller than other monitors I use) which is great! This is the first monitor I used where the receiver can easily slip into a pocket with room to spare. It's thicker than an iPod Classic, but shorter and not as wide. However, it also comes with a belt clip and lanyard if you prefer.
The monitor, despite its power, is tiny too: squarish and smaller than my fist. It would easily tuck into a corner of a dresser without taking up much space. The only thing I would have liked to see is a video camera which other monitors of similar price points come with. That said, I think this monitor is well worth the price, and it's certainly the best designed monitor I've used. review By P. Colin McGraw "AV, Computer & EnviroTech Nut" (Castle Rock, CO)

boppy noggin nest head support
AMazing! Don't hesitate, buy this now. Our son was developin a flat spot on the right side of his head and the head was almost becoming lopsided! The doctor noticed it at his 2 month check up and just said to switch the side of his crib and try to prop his head. Well I wanted to be proactive so I bought one of these. AFter a week, I bought TWO more, that's how great they are! We used them at night while he sleeps and also in the car seat and his swing. After just 6 weeks, the flat spot is 100% gone!!! His head is perfectly round and perfect. We had made an appointment in December for a specialist who deals with helmets and whatnot and I'm going to cancel it because it's totally fixed by this pillow. Can't recommend it enough!! review By Xan77
Tips for at home head shape assessment. My son loves to sleep turning his head to the right and at 2 months old he developed flat spot (plagiocephaly head shape when one of the sides at the back of the head is flat-there are 2 more flat spot shapes: flat back and flat both sides of the head). I bought this head support because of the great reviews.
At first I wasn't happy because it says that it can not be used for sleep, but since he can't change position by himself. Also I use it in a bouncer and car seat (works great in Chicco Keyfit 30), and for tummy time which is great for arms support. So during the night my son sleeps always on the back on Boppy head support, and during the day on the sides (I alternate sides to maintain good head shape). The boppy head support doesn't bother my son at all.
If you suspect that your baby's head has a abnormal shape talk to your doctor or you can make assessment at home:

If you suspect that your baby's head has a abnormal shape talk to your doctor or you can make assessment at home:
- from the bird's eye view normal head shape is 1/3 longer than it is wide,
- both sides of the head should match and back of the head should be curved (my son's flat spot on the side of the head one ear was closer to the shoulder and one side of the head looked higher),
- face should be symmetrical (look for narrow head, ears poking out at the top, one eye may appear smaller and one cheek fuller, bumps above the ears and forehead)
- very easy to measure, this is how I checked improvement in my son's flat spot: put an index finger in each of the baby's ears while she is still sitting on someone's lap, then stand over the baby and look to see if your fingers line up.
At the beginning the line between fingers was quite big and I was skeptical if the Boppy head support will help, but here we are about 5 weeks later and his ears are almost even. The improvement is great and I highly recommend this product. I wish I could use it from the day one! review By Marley
body pillow full support pillow CU9000
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! I do not know if I can stress enough how much I LOVE this pillow. This is my fourth pregnancy and I have tried a lot of different products out there. With my third pregnancy, I even invested in one of those pregnancy blow up beds with the hole in the center for your belly and spent 5 months sleeping on the floor in front of my bed-ugh! Okay on to the Comfort-U total body pillow. What I love about it is it has just the right amount of firmness and softness to support your head, your legs, your belly or whatever you want to prop up or lay on. I do not need to use any other pillows with this while I am sleeping. I do use my regular pillow to prop me up more when I sit up and watch television, but do not need it to sleep. Let me say, I am a pillow snob-take my pillow with me on vacations, to visit family, etc...because I like a nice mushy pillow. This was my problem with the other body pillows; they were either too firm or too flat and I still had a fort of pillows in the bed. This pillow is just right. The pillow is big, so if you are in a bed smaller than a queen (I am in a king) you may find it too big for the bed if you share it with someone else. I must say I have caught my husband snuggling up against it, so it is large but it's soft and not intrusive. I was skeptical on spending the money for this, but boy am I glad I did. I read other reviews that said the same thing I am saying and I am so happy I listened. This pillow is really great. review By K. Dubose
Saved me!! I hesitated to buy a $100 pillow for pregnancy. But I'm not a side sleeper, so I was having real problems sleeping by about 16 weeks. Every time I turned over, I'd have to re-adjust all my pillows. So I took the plunge. This pillow has fulfilled all of my expectations and then some (I'm now 34 weeks, so have used it for almost 5 months). I'm a pillow snob too (I have 'my' pillows that I have trouble sleeping without), and this pillow is the perfect combination of soft and supportive. Also, a couple reviews said it was for 'large' people, which worried me, but I personally haven't found this to be the case (I'm slender and 5'7", and then there is the pregnancy bump of course!)
I chose this pillow because I wanted a 'horsehoe' pillow that went down both sides of my body, as the doctor said I could half-lie on my back as long as I had pillows propping me at an angle. This is why I chose this pillow over the other pregnancy pillows that only go on one side of your body, and I'm SO GLAD i did. I cannot imagine having to move a huge pillow from side to side every time you roll over. Added to that, with this pillow I can lay on my side and curl around it with the front of my body, then also lean back a little with the pillow behind me to get a bit of a different position. The pillow is always there no matter how I shift positions! I tried to sleep without it for one night when I was staying at my mom's, and my hips had sharp, shooting pains and I barely slept. Yes, it is that dramatic!
Some people have commented on the size - it is a big pillow. I have actually slept with it in a single, queen and king sized bed, as I learned I can't sleep without it and so took it with me when I traveled (in a huge duffel bag - again, I love this pillow). In a king-sized bed, my husband has plenty of room and there is no problem whatsoever. In a queen bed, there is a bit less room, but my husband didn't complain, especially because he can curl up to the outside of it as well. It even worked with me alone in a single bed! I guess the one downside is you can't cuddle with your partner (my husband calls it my 'nest'), and I do miss that, but honestly, I'm up and turning and going to the bathroom so much that it would keep him up anyway!
The only downside I could think of is that the stitching in the zipper seam of the pillow case frayed a lot with the first wash. After that, I was worried that the pillowcase would soon fall apart, but it hasn't (it's had about a dozen washes now). I now just make sure to zip the zipper closed when I wash it, and that works to prevent the fraying. By the way, this is my first Amazon review, though I've purchased many products. I just have heard a lot of women in my prenatal classes complaining about sleep, so I wanted to share how well this pillow worked for me. review By poetrylover

the boppy total body pillow
Love it! Love it! Love it! I LOVE this pillow. It offers the support that I need without being overwhelming in bed. I can turn back and forth from side to side with it relatively easily. It also doesn't take up too much space so I don't kick my hunny out of bed while using it. I like the options with it as well. You can fold it in half and prop yourself up to read or watch tv, lay it on one side of me so I can lay more on my back with support or all the way on my side with it between my legs and rest my arm on it. Plus, I know I can use it when the baby comes too to prop him up while relaxing or breastfeeding. It's the perfect "fluffiness" and hasn't deflated like some other reviews stated. I was skeptical when I saw how small it is when its in the packaging but it's been a life saver thus far and I plan on using it as much possible. I HIGHLY recommend! review By Janelle Means
LOVE IT , I love the Boppy Body Pillow! I can't live without it. I couldn't sleep well starting in my 6th month. I was restless and up every hour. When I got the pillow that all changed. So soft and comfortable I fell asleep within minutes and didn't wake up during the night. review By Candace
infant car seat base - graco snugride
Double Your Infant Seat's Usefulness for a Little Money, My wife and I have been long-time fans of our Graco infant seat, so much so that we would have been willing to purchase a second one in order to ensure that either my wife or I would always be ready to get up and go with our son when necessary. However, Graco saved us from having to do that by offering this base alone as an accessory.
Some other reviews have claimed that having an additional base isn't really necessary because LATCH allows you to easily move the base from car-to-car. This sounds reasonable on paper, but breaks down in real life:
* What if one of your cars is older than 2001 and doesn't have LATCH? Ask anyone who's correctly installed a car seat or base via the seatbelt and they'll confirm that it is a physically difficult endeavor. Faced with a choice between regularly undergoing this exertion or else investing in an additional base and then leaving it in place, I'd bet 99% would go for the base (the other 1% apparently enjoy a vigorous workout at the most inopportune times).
* Will you always have the time to switch? When you're commuting or traveling with an infant, time is an even more crucial resource than usual. Plus, any number of other factors (What if you're alone with the baby? What if the weather is severe?) could make the prospect of a guaranteed quick departure well worth the $40 spent on a spare base.
* What about unforseen schedule changes? When our son began going to day care, he had to be brought home early on several occasions because of ailments. Having a base in each car meant that either of us could go get him. So if one of was too tied up at the office, we wouldn't have to stress over begging out of work early during a busy time.
More than a simple convenience, having a base in each of your family's vehicles is an insurance policy against being painted into a corner when getting around town with your little one. Any working parent will especially appreciate not having to stress over "do I have the car with the car seat?" at any given time. We've gotten our money's worth out of this accessory time and time again. review By D. R. Jeanclerc

motorola video baby monitor with 1.5 inch
Great Value for a Video Monitor, When my Sony Baby Call monitor started buzzing frequently and randomly shutting off I started shopping for a new monitor. I spotted the Motorola MBP20 and have been using it for about a week.
PROS:
Design - Nice visual design.
Size - About the size of an iPhone, small and convenient.
Weight - Light and easy to carry.
Carrying Convenience - The belt clip can be rotated to function as a kick stand and is also removable
.
Screen - Small but gives a clear and crisp image, can be turned on or off so it doesn't glare brightly at night. The audio still works even when the video is off.
Menu - Easy to navigate and change settings.
Sound - The sound is clear and there is no static. I like that it is encrypted and secure.
Battery - I use the monitor for about 7 hours total during the day and the battery is only drained about half way. I don't leave the video display on though. (Tip: On the battery itself is the suggestion to charge the battery at least 16 hours before using.)
Price - I got this for 80. I consider that a great value.
CONS:
Night Vision - Image is ok, details are lost the farther you put the camera from the target area. I have two kids that share a room and I initially wanted to try to get a view of the whole room. The image is easy to see in the day but the night vision infrared bulbs only reach so far. As a result I had to put the camera closer to just one crib.
Volume - The highest volume is about the same as noises in real life. I list this as a con because my old monitor's volume goes much higher. It was easier to wake up to at night.
Voice Activation - This monitor has a feature that turns on the microphone when a certain noise level is reached. When the noise level is below that threshold the mic is off. There is no way to turn this feature off or adjust the sensitivity. I noticed the closer the camera is to the baby the higher the sensitivity and the more noises will come through on the monitor. (Tip: if you push the video on/off button you can activate the microphone and listen in on the kids.)
Visual Sound Alert - My old monitor had lights that would flicker on when the monitor detected sound and the louder the sound the more lights would come on. This monitor does not have that feature and I regret that. It does however have an alert you can activate that will sound when the monitor is muted and detects noise.
BOTTOM LINE:
I would recommend this monitor. I mainly use it to hear when my 6 month old wakes at night and when she and my 2 year old son wake in the morning. It does the job for me and it's fun to see my baby on the video. review By J. Wilcox

handheld color baby video monitor
EVERY PARENT NEEDS THIS PRODUCT TO PREVENT SIDS, 3l Best View Summer Infant Pan/scan Baby Monitor Redesign The reason I gave Summer's Best View Monitor 5 stars was because I couldn't give it 10! I ordered this product for my wife after our 6-month-old son was twice found lying on his stomach, near-face-down. I cannot emphasize enough how completely satisfied we are with this product. After reading the 2 negative comments (one complained the monitor did not work when on battery power, and the other thought the picture was too grainy when used in a dark room in the middle of the night - you've got to be kidding!!!) I can assure you the quality of this $179 product is better than my $20,000 night vision goggles provided me by the National Guard. If you're expecting this to look like your 60" High Definition Flat Screen TV in your living room then yes, you're going to be disappointed. My wife and I absolutely LOVE this product and I cannot emphasize enough the peace-of-mind it has given us. I know because my brother died of SIDS, and the emotional scar it left on my mother is not something I would wish on anyone. Our son's bedroom is pitch-dark at night, and this camera makes it appear as though there is a spotlight shining on him - his face is that clear and bright (isn't technology great!!). After a few nights using the 2.5" hand-held screen, we wanted to experiment with the Audio-Video jacks provided so we plugged them into our 32" HD Flat Screen TV in our bedroom. Well... let me tell you.... this is the cat's meow!!! Now either my wife or I can simply open our eyes and immediately enjoy an absolutely incredible image of our son at rest (and can hear him over the TV as well) - it doesn't get better than this!!!!
Thank you Summer for such an outstanding product that helps parents everywhere prevent SIDS with such a high-quality monitoring system as this.
(Comments added 4/23/11) RECORD YOUR CHILD PLAYING IN THEIR CRIB!!!
How ironic that I ended my initial review above with the words "It doesn't get better than this!!!". I can now tell you it does get better. After watching our son on our bedroom TV one morning as he was playing, my wife made the comment "It's too bad we couldn't have this recorded". I immediately went and took our DVD recorder and plugged the audio/video jacks from the monitor into the DVD recorder, and then back out to the TV, and wah-lah... we now record these precious moments for posterity. It is absolutely priceless to now record these before-unseen moments as he plays in the morning sun after waking. We have now recorded him learning to activate the carousel by himself as he struggled until he finally achieved his goal. Thanks Summer for thinking ahead to add the audio/video jacks to this great product. review By D. Demro

baby video monitor
The Minutiae of 2 Monitors: Motorola MBP36 & Summer Infant Touch, Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor with 3.5 Inch Color LCD Screen Summer Infant Baby Touch Digital Color Video Monitor This review discusses the minutiae, good and bad, of both monitors. (Same review under both products). Summary: Motorola: 4 stars, SI: 4.5 stars. Both monitors are great and fit the bill for a pan/tilt monitor. It's the little details and personal preference that will determine the best monitor for you. FYI, we come from a history of owning the Summer Infant BestView-pre2011. We would have just added a 2nd camera to our unit if it were still available. Where applicable, we noted where SI has improved some things from the BestView to the Touch.
Both monitors have a 3.5" screen. The pictures in both daytime and night vision are very good. The sound and talk back on both units is good. The pan/tilt is quiet overall on both cameras. The biggest difference is how to access the features you feel are most important to you. Below are some notable differences between the two units.
Overall layout (see labeled pictures):
Video On/Off: external button on both
Volume: in menu on Motorola, dedicated top toggle on SI
Pan/Tilt: external (Left) buttons on Motorola, in a menu with touch arrows on SI
Zoom: in a menu on both
Scan: external button on Motorola, in a menu on SI
Buttons: SI wins this hands down. Unless you are awake every time you use the monitor, you cannot easily find and press the correct button, one-handed, in a dark room/semi-sleep state. For us, this design difference is what sealed the deal for SI over Motorola. We can easily find the Video On/Off and volume with tactile sense. We would have resorted to making a raised surface on the 3rd button if we chose to keep the Motorola.
SI touch screen: Many people commented that you can brush up against the screen anywhere and turn the menu on/select items. This doesn't seem to be totally the case. You not only have to have the video ON, but you also have to press on the very right or bottom strip of the picture/screen to bring up the menu. A random touch anywhere on the screen will not bring the menu up. Also of note, accessing the main functions (Video On/Off and Volume) does not require the touch menu since these buttons are located on the OUTSIDE of the unit. We are fine with going into a menu for less-common functions such as pan/zoom/scan because we will not be doing this nearly as often as turning the video on/off and adjusting volume. (And the SI volume toggle does NOT activate the touch screen so the monitor can stay dark while you adjust volume.)
Interference: we had problems with our old SI (BestView) and wireless interference. The Motorola had much less interference than the SI Touch, the SI Touch seemed to have the same interference as the SI BestView. We opted to upgrade/change routers to solve this problem instead of compromising on any monitors. A router is a cheaper electronic piece to swap out than a monitor system (esp with multiple cameras).
Camera range: we placed each camera on the same peg over the bed. The SI showed ¾ of the bed, the Motorola showed a little less than ½. For us that meant HAVING TO pan the Motorola each time to see where baby rolled. We have the camera at the max height on the wall. The camera could easily be placed at a different angle relative to the bed to avoid panning. This is just to compare how the video outputs differ relative to each other. (The specs are undoubtedly written in the manuals somewhere describing the camera lens type.)
Night vision LEDs: both the Motorola and SI Touch have 'invisible' LED lights to provide night vision. On the monitors, this looks like a spotlight with darker edges that look like they're `in the shade.' This is subtle and not really noticeable except at the lowest screen brightness setting. For reference, the old SI BestView had a circle of red LED lights around the lens that resulted in a more evenly-lit monitor picture.
Speaker: located in the back of the unit on the Motorola. The SI speaker is redesigned but still on the front of the monitor. Both units have an 8-level sound bar and each level between the 2 brands seems about equal. Several have been concerned that the volume does NOT go to zero on the Motorola. However, the speaker is on the back of the unit and makes the lowest setting almost equivalent to a mute setting. In testing it, we found that the rear speaker placement helped block the background rustling/movement that we didn't want to hear, but did not hinder us hearing the louder baby noises that we did want to hear. (Also for comparison's sake, the Motorola and SI Touch level 4 is equivalent to SI BestView level 2 so there is improved ability to adjust the lower/quieter sound levels; the quiet sounds are quieter and loud sounds (above level 4) are still loud. ...a great change for SI fans.
Cameras: The Motorola has nice rubber feet at the base that keep the camera from sliding where placed. The SI has a light plastic feel and the base is so light it feels like the camera will topple over. (But it doesn't.) We put ours on the wall (not on a shelf) since that's the best way for us to use the pan/tilt, so the padded bottom is a non-issue (although the SI vibration against the wall was loud until we placed a felt pad sticker on it).
Monitors: The Motorola monitor also has the nice rubber grips on the bottom. It stays in place on a tabletop making it easier for you to grab. And you WILL need to grab it...with BOTH hands...in order to press the correct button(s) to activate any function. The SI comes with a little saucer-like magnetic recharging base. It's so light and plastic-y that it hangs on to the monitor when trying to break the magnetic connection. Because you need adequate pressure for the touch screen, you'll need to get your hands on the monitor to work the touch screen functions. Put the fancy saucer base in the trash and just use the charger port on the left side of the monitor unit itself. Overall, the Motorola is a niiiice monitor to hold. It's thick and chunky, like a portable game unit (think psp), and you can thumb the left and right buttons very, very easily. The SI is thinner and more sleek (fake chrome cover) and less comfortable to hold. And because you need to hold it length-wise (buttons on the top of the unit get in the way...), it's a little harder to balance than a touch phone that you may be used to holding.
The SI comes with a cordless click-on base for the camera. It takes 4 AA batteries, advertising a 10hr battery life. The batteries do NOT come with the unit and we think that you CANNOT use the power cord to charge the base, eg rechargeable batteries need to be taken out of the unit to be recharged. This is different than stated on the Amazon description. We have not tested this, but it's directly from the manufacturer info.
Motorola has a temp gauge. Never had it before and it's a nice feature to have. The temp of the Motorola is accurate since the camera doesn't run hot (goes up a few degrees temporarily when you move the camera) unlike reviews of other brands.
Motorola has an audible beep when the battery is low. Most people like this. We do not. A flashing light is adequate. We'd be pissed if this woke us up in the night, so any monitor stays plugged in during the overnight hours for this reason. (Plus the manufacturer recommends running the battery down during the day and charging at night to keep the battery life optimal.)
SI turns the video off in 3min if not plugged in. Motorola takes longer by about 1-1.5min.
Again, both units are great for a pan/tilt multi-camera setup. What you're used to in a monitor and what makes life easier for you in daily use will tip your scales one way or the other. But you cannot go wrong with either of these choices. We hope these little itty bitty details of these two units help someone.
*UPDATE* 11/10/11 We really wanted to like the Motorola because it had a more compact and nicer camera and the monitor design was superior to SI and had a great feel to it, but the accessibility of some features won out on the SI vs the Motorola. We've had the SI monitor for a month now and everything is still behaving. The only thing to add to the above information for the SI is that the touch screen is a little better than expected. As stated above, it is activated only if you push the menu button on the right side of the unit (very inconvenient location for one-handed use) or tap along the bottom/right of the touchscreen (like old-school digital picture frames). The nice thing is that once activated, the screen is very responsive to one-handed touch when sitting upright (eg on a nightstand). It's very easy to reach over and adjust brightness or use the arrow buttons with one finger and not knock it over. The only negative is in selecting items. Once you select the menu item (eg Brightness or Camera), you need to use the arrow buttons in the popup menu to get to and highlight what you want. For example, under Brightness you cannot just tap a higher level and have it go from 2 to 7. Instead, you have to tap the arrow up incrementally. The menu items of Brightness, Scan, and Switch Camera do this. (FYI in comparison, the Motorola has the same menu system but instead of tapping on the initial menu icon you needed to arrow thru all the menu icons to get to what you want. As mentioned in the original review, the VOLUME was one of these embedded menu items so it took 3-4 button clicks to adjust volume once you pulled up the menu.) Too bad these two monitoring systems can't have a child and make the PERFECT user-friendly system. review By M Baker
Zoom: in a menu on both
Scan: external button on Motorola, in a menu on SI

body pillow snoozer additional pillowcase
Just buy it! I never write product reviews online, but I want all pregnant women considering this product to just bite the bullet and buy it. I was very apprehensive about such a weird looking pillow creature sharing our bed, but I shouldn't have been - it's great. There are several choices to make regarding filler and size once you've honed in on this particular pillow. I bought the expensive goose down full length pillow, and I'm glad I did. I know it's expensive, but my sleep is too important to skimp on. I was worried that the down pillow might be too soft, as many down pillows are quite flat, but it is very full and more supportive than I ever figured down could be.
My husband and I sleep in a queen size bed, and I was concerned about how this pillow would fit in our bed. While it is rather large, it hasn't been a problem. I don't seem to take up any more room curled up with the snoozer than I do just side sleeping with my knees bent. He doesn't mind it, anyway. And, I love it! I figured when I bought this pillow that I'd continue using my tempurpedic pillow for my head, but the snoozer is so comfy that the tempurpedic has been kicked out of the bed.
To my surprise, I've found that I also really love using this pillow to prop myself up to read in bed. Curled into a "U" shape behind me, it provides great armrests as well as really nice support. As this will be my first child, I don't know about breastfeeding yet, but I imagine this pillow will be great for that, too.
I bought this pillow when I was about 4 1/2 months pregnant (before I probably really needed it), and now that I'm at 6 months, I am SO glad to have it. And, I really doubt that I'll stop using it once I deliver the baby. Pregnant or not, I really like the support between my knees and under my side to keep my from rolling over onto my belly. Bottom line - just buy it! I really doubt you'll be sorry. revieBy A. Mckenna

Will get another one when this wears out! I LOVE this pillow. I got it to make my pregnancy more comfortable at night and it did! Now I know that I will never sleep without one...even when I'm not pregnant. It is so comfortable. review By Allison A. Halsted
boppy newborn lounger seed row
Great for reflux, baby loves it! We bought this after trying to find a way to get our newborn cozy on the couch with us. This is a great flexible option. We even used it for her to sleep between us the first few nights when we couldn't stop staring at her...she is so comfortable in this she often falls right asleep. I know it says not to sleep in it but until she is mobile it seems safe enough.
Unfortunately we learned that she also has reflex and is prone to spitting up after she eats. This is made worse if you set her in any sitting position; bouncy seat, swing, carseat. This works like a charm as she is more reclined and doesn't spit up when we lay her in it.

I would also suggest the cover that you can purchase for this as well. It is fleece and makes it very cozy for winter, review By luv2shop
my son loves it! I had been using my regular Boppy to lay my newborn son in for short periods of time and he always slid down into it and I had to re-adjust him every minute or so. Then I found this!! It is so awesome and he loves it! He will stay content in this for a good 30 minutes at a time. When he's not using it I have to make sure I keep it propped up on end or my cats will be sleeping in it in no time. review By D. Fokema
body pillow - ivory
Improved sleep and comfort for this pregnant gal, I was a little hesitant about purchasing this product regarding a few of the issues some reviews mentioned (price, quality, seam, size), but now that I have used it I am incredibly glad I bought it. I am 6 months pregnant, 5'7'' and have a fairly slender build and sleep on a queen size bed with my husband.
Here are the things I love about this pillow:
Here are the things I love about this pillow:
- My overall sleep time has increased and deep sleep has improved. I think this is because the pillow hugs all around my body and I can roll over without adjusting 4 pillows. Now I don't even have to move the pillow, it is already where it needs to be.
- Before pregnancy I always slept on my back and the switch to side sleeping has been incredibly difficult. This pillow has helped me feel comfortable on my side as well as offer kind of an in-between back and side position. Also, it has kept me from rolling on my back naturally while I sleep, which has been most helpful.
- There are many positions to use this pillow as well as many positions you can assume with each pillow position. It also supports a growing belly very nicely.
- I personally find the pillow stuffing to be pleasantly soft yet supportive at the same time.
- This pillow is great for mid afternoon rests and short breaks.
- Though it is a bit bulky it takes up only my half of the bed (queensize). My husband has not been annoyed or cramped because of it. In fact he often snuggles up against it in the night.
Cons: (minor ones at that)
1. A little pricey. But what price would you pay for a better, less miserable night of sleep.
2. Slightly rough pillowcase.
3. Less snuggle time through the night with hubby, but we can still be pretty close.
This pillow has fit my needs very well and has been worth the money.
**As an update. June 2008. This pillow has really helped me post partum. Nursing has been easier, it is very comforting to snuggle in when I'm feeling a little blue, and my body aches have been reduced thanks to it's many support positions. I personally feel that I would not have been very comfortable without this pillow especially the last 2 months of pregnancy.
I have one additional complaint about it. the pillow case became quite nubby and even more rough in some spots (mostly the area that my feet and legs occupied). review By C. Johnson

boppy prenatal sleep wedge
Pregnancy wedge that has multiple uses, I got this wedge to support my tummy when sleeping on my side while pregnant. I already had the Boppy full support body pillow which I loved, but still did not get the adequate support for my baby belly when using the body pillow alone. The wedge is small and worked well with my body pillow. I would tuck this wedge in under my belly and it did make a difference, making me more comfortable. The slipcover zips off, washes nicely, and easily zips back on. The wedge is made of a firm foam. The only nuisance was when I had to switch sides due to my hips going numb, I would have to readjust my wedge every time, but it only took a few seconds as it is a good compact size.
I continued to use this wedge after my baby was born for a few different uses. We used it in his bassinet, underneath the top part of the mattress to raise my baby's head as the rounded part of the wedge fit perfectly in it. My baby could not lay flat due to spit up and acid reflux issues, so the wedge provided the perfect rise. I also used it during nursing to provide an added boost to baby's head. I placed it underneath my baby's head, on top of the regular Boppy pillow to raise his head closer for nursing. We also used it to raise my baby's head when he was lying down next to us. We monitored him at all times whenever we used it this way.
Overall this wedge has been used a lot, more than we originally thought when purchasing it. I would recommend it. review By Shanody

boppy bare naked pillow
Absolutely Indispensable, Ask any new mom what their favorite baby product is and they will have a impassioned review of an item that 'saved' them during the those bleary first few months. For some, its the fancy breast pump that at first seemed too expensive and later became the cherished gateway for a few hours rest. For others, its the mechanical swing that allowed them to do some laundry or eat a meal. For me, its the Bare Naked Boppy. A pillow for breast feeding? Oh it's not just for breast feeding. Sure, it provides the perfect little platform to rest your tiny one while she eats. It frees up you hands to do such essential 4 am activities as flipping channels looking for something that isn't an infomercial on TV. The boppy is an appendage, a constant companion. Its good for a million uses, most of which are clearly warned against on the label. Most of all the boppy is part of the ritual of feeding that I found so helpful in establishing breast feeding. The bare naked version allows you to easily wash the cover. The only way I would improve this product is to install a pocket that holds extra burp clothes so you dont have to go running for one in a pinch. review By Josiecat
Pros and Cons, I nursed my son with the original Boppy for a year. Yes, it is wonderful and everything the other reviewers said. However, my issue is that it begins to "bend" in the middle from use. Really, this is fine...I mean a year of nursing is going to be hard on any pillow. But my main complaint is that the covers they make for these things are NOT waterproof (or spit-up proof). What is the point of a cover? I had to wrap my entire Boppy in saran wrap, then put the cover on to get any protection nd prevent smelly stains. just my two cents. review By Pleased
car seat sun shade from mommy's helper
Does exactly what its meant to do! Excellent product! I had been using a towel to keep my daugther's car seat out of sunlight when the car was parked but I decided to try this and I'm so glad I did. It folds up really small for storage and has an elastic and toggle to keep it wrapped up in a smaller parcel. Most importantly, this product WORKS, it does exactly what it's meant to. Previously, when I was using a towel to cover the car seat, the car seat was still hot and the metal buckles were still quite hot to the touch as well. This cover keeps the car seat and buckles cool to the touch. Perfect! It keeps my daughter from being burned by the metal buckles and the uncomfortable feeling of sitting on a hot seat. Not to mention you shouldn't leave a car seat out in direct sunlight as it can damage your car seat. I would think this would cover any car seat on the market. My daughter's car seat is huge and it still fits great over it (I live in the UK so it's a European car seat called a Maxi Cosi Mobi and it's a huge beast!). I highly recommend this product, especially for the hot summer months! review By A.G.
Great product that lasts, I originally purchased one of these for my oldest daughter's car seat in early 2009. At the time, we had a Graco Snugride for her, and this fit just fine over it. We live in Arizona, and keeping the car seat is a must in the heat, and this product did a good job of keeping the car seat warm (instead of flaming hot) and making sure that the buckles didn't burn her when we came back. When she moved on to a big girl car seat (Graco MyRide 65), the shade still fit over it. We've used it now for two years and never had any issues with it tearing, breaking, or losing elasticity around the edges. We just purchased another one for our youngest daughter's car seat, if that tells you anything about how much we like this product! I gave it 4 stars out of 5 instead of 5/5 because it just doesn't fold back up the way the manufacturer claims it does. You just kind of have to ball it up, put the strap around it, and toss it back in the car. review By K. Weleck
car seat travel accessory
Love this Product. A lifesaver, We recently used this with my 26 month old son on his Britax Marathon. It was so simple. With my husband's help, we were able to attach it to the carry-on while my son remained sleeping in his seat. My son is a real busy body and hates strollers, so I worried that he would not want to sit in it during our layover after being stuck in a plane for 4 hours, but he loved it. He actually couldn't wait to sit in it and be wheeled through the airport. Once we got to our final destination, he actually threw a fit because we would not take the seat out of the car and wheel him inside the house. review By Natalie
Great product - affordable and practical, I recently used this product with my 2-year-old (23 lbs) in a Britax Marathon and a 22" carry-on roller. Overall, I am very happy with the strap. There are some minor details you need to know, here are the summary:
PRO:
PRO:
- Your little one(s) will love it, it's a novelty stroller for them
- Strap is simple and easy to use, it leveages(extends) the car seat's belt system (top and two sides) to attach to your carry-on roller.
- It works well but make sure to do a test drive at home.
- You will get postive comments from almost everyone you pass by. If you have extra straps with you, you can probably sell them on the spot. Amazon should be paying me for the upcoming business they will get from my word-of-mouth advertisment!
CON: (not really cons but just observations)
- Expectation on size. Not really a con but just a little let-down when you get your package. Has nothing to do with usability.
- Price but still affordable. Probably cost $.50 to make so hats off for the inventor that came up with the idea
- Roller fitting. Make sure to try it with your roller. Three points on this: 1) make sure to pack your roller full, otherwise it's difficult to "grab" the car seat; 2) make sure your roller's handle is not a single arm , you will need an opening to thread through the top belt; 3) make sure your roller handle is long enough so you don't have to bend down too much to pull or push the car seat/roller when attached
Again, overall a fantastic product. I took a star off for the price. Otherwise it's a great purchase. review By Lesmiz
